Edmunds.com Overview Edmunds.com Reviews Edmunds.com Ratings Edmunds.com Pros and Cons Edmunds.com Conclusion Compare

Edmunds.com is an online source of automotive information that is based in California. The website was established in 1995, and primarily makes money through the use of paid advertisements. The website itself offers viewers information on car brands, databases on retailers, dealer listings, driver reviews, and even informative articles on all aspects of car ownership.

Before becoming an online knowledge base in 1995, Edmunds.com was simply Edmunds, a printed booklet knowledge source for automobile owners, dealers, and shoppers, that was founded in 1966.

REVIEW

Across the board, Edmunds.com is the most trusted name in online auto information that users can find. If you had to choose only a single research source when looking for a new vehicle, this would be it. Not only is every listing filled with photos, manufacturer specs, driver reviews, and tips related to that specific model, you can also find videos, pricing information, and expert reviews from mechanics who can tell you how expensive a vehicle may be to keep up.

Using Edmunds.com is like taking the most extensive test drive you can, without actually getting in the vehicle. The fact that it is entirely free for users to search, browse, and read unlimited articles, makes it even better. There is almost no make or model sold within the United States that isn’t included on Edmunds.com.

You can also find information about used cars, including market value, and dealer listings within specific areas. Just set the zip code and distance you are willing to travel, and you’ll see listings nearby. After using Edmunds.com ourselves to fact check many types of cars, we can reliably say that their information is up-to-date and easy to use.

If you want to check on a listing before you ever go to the dealership and listen to the heavy-handed sales tactics, Edmunds.com has links to CARFAX, where you can go ahead and purchase your own vehicle history report to get it out of the way. And one of the coolest features on the Edmunds.com website is the ability to do a side-by-side comparison of up to five vehicles, which is great if you’re trying to narrow down your options.

Edmunds.com offers a huge FAQ section to help you find your way around, and they also have a phone and email service that users can contact for additional help. In fact, the only real negative that we can find about Edmunds.com is that the front page is pretty cluttered, and users have to navigate through a few pages to start getting into the real meat of the website.
