Landmark Home Warranty is a home warranty provider that services the states of Arizona, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Texas and Utah. The company is a member of the National Home Service Contract Association and Texas Real Estate Commission. In 2011, Landmark Home Warranty founded the Landmark Home Foundation, a non-profit that helps provide homes to those who need special accommodations.


REVIEW

Landmark Home Warranty offers four types of plans, which may vary depending upon the location of the home. The price of the plans will also vary depending upon the square footage of the home. Each plan includes repair and replace coverage for specific appliances and systems, but a $60 fee is applied to each service order requested by the policy holder.

The most affordable option, the Standard Plan, includes services, like re-keying, and air conditioning and heating tune-ups. It includes limited coverage for many appliances and systems, including air conditioners, heaters, plumbing, electrical, dishwashers, garbage disposals, trash compactors, ovens, ranges, cooktops, built-in microwaves and kitchen exhaust fans.

The next step up is the Premiere Plan. It includes everything in the Standard Plan, but offers more comprehensive coverage for all systems, meaning it covers more parts of each system. It also includes upgrades, which cover things like code violations and inadequate installation. Other services, like re-keying for up to six doors, or termite and pest control, are available in certain states.

The Value Plan covers everything in the Premiere Plan, but also warranties a kitchen refrigerator and refrigerator ice maker.

The Deluxe Plan is the most expensive, and fittingly, the most comprehensive. It includes everything in the Value Plan, plus coverage for a clothes washer and dryer.

To submit a claim, policy holders can go to the Landmark website to fill out a claim form. A claims representative will then send them the information for a contractor who will diagnose the problem and repair it if necessary. A $60 service fee will be charged to the policy holder at the time of the appointment. According to Landmark’s website, the company approves 97% of claims, which could be part of the reason the company gets high reviews from customers throughout the Internet.

As with any company that services a large area and works with independent contractors, there is a wide range of reported consumer experiences regarding the quality and professionalism of the service professionals in the Landmark network. However, most of those who complained also noted that Landmark provided them with a substitute contractor who did the job correctly. The wide variety of reported wait times for services is also indicative of a company with wide reach, but a network of service technicians who are diverse in quality of professionalism, or lack of enough contractors in some areas. This was especially troubling for those waiting for emergency appointments, like a failed heating system in the middle of a cold streak.

This allows purchasers to customize just how much coverage they need on specific items. Their extra services, like re-keying and pest control set them apart from similar businesses. The company has a reputation for accepting claims, but some individuals complain of the quality of contractors they send to fix the broken appliance or system. That being said, in most of those instances, a Landmark representative was available to assist the policy holder in getting a new skilled technician to come in and fix the issue, indicative of quality customer service.

    I have had a great experience with landmark home warranty. We have purchased our home in April, and we chose to go with Landmark. We live out in the country and the things they had to offer were exactly what we have needed. Seems to be because of how far out we live, middle of nowhere, they have a little bit of a difficult time finding contractors who will come and service us. But they find someone quickly and they have been the nicest, going above and beyond, contractors I have ever experienced. We had a little hiccup one day with a contractor(just some miscommunication) and Landmark was on it to make sure everything was corrected and that we were taking care of ! I have been very thankful for our home warranty and the experience we have had with landmark will make me want to continue my service with them for several more years to come! and I do recommend them to everyone I know that is looking for home warranty!
